Centre Horec and how it was...
The ageless building was constructed in the early 20th century. It is not the oldest building in Malá Úpa, but we can at least point out its unique character. Hořec has always been a popular destination for tourists, who had the opportunity to spend the night here and take advantage of the restaurant's services. The cottage enjoyed great popularity and a large number of visitors.
As time went by, Hořec continued to develop and time left its mark on it – minor modifications, a change of owners and so on. The building had needed renovating for a long time. There was even speculation that it might be demolished. But luck was on Hořec's side. The building is now being completely rebuilt. The original plan was for the hotel to be restored to its former glory for the enjoyment of every guest. But fate took a different turn...
The magic of Hořec
Not only an exceptional place, but also an architectural jewel. The idea of the architects was to preserve the original look of the building by adding modern elements without changing its character. The less to tear down, the better. The building's transformation is not apparent at first glance before entering.
There is a ski equipment rental service and ski school facilities on the ground floor of the building. In the summer, there is a change in the rental shop from the ski season to the summer season and electric bicycles are available for hire.
